At Life Oral Health Periodontics and Implant Surgery, your care is guided by Dr. Deborah K. Ruprecht, DDS — a USC-trained periodontist with more than two decades of surgical experience and a practice philosophy grounded in prevention, integrity, and compassionate care.

She believes the best path to oral health is a preventive one. By focusing on long-term outcomes, building strong clinical foundations, and supporting the body’s natural healing response, Dr. Ruprecht helps patients protect their oral and systemic health at every stage of life.

A Deep Clinical Foundation

Dr. Ruprecht’s training began at the University of Southern California, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene (1988), her Doctor of Dental Surgery (1995), and a Postdoctoral Certificate in Periodontics (1999).
During her 11 years at USC, she studied under some of the most respected names in the field—including Anna Pattison, Diane and Ray Melrose, Richard Kahn, Jorgen Slots, Hessam Nowzari, Homa Zadeh, Gerald Drury, Winston Chee, and Simon Gamer.

Their mentorship shaped how she practices: with precision, compassion, and a strong scientific foundation. Today, her patients benefit not only from that training but from the clinical wisdom she has gained through decades of experience in advanced periodontics and implant surgery.

Whole-Body Care Backed by Science

Every decision she makes is guided by research and chosen with the whole person in mind. She routinely uses biocompatible materials, advanced laser and imaging technology, and platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) to support healing and long-term results.

As a certified phlebotomist, she prepares PRF in-house to accelerate recovery using the body’s own growth factors. She also incorporates nutritional support and wellness referrals to help patients heal comfortably and maintain strong immune health.

Education Rooted in Gratitude

Dr. Ruprecht believes the best way to honor her education is to pass it on. Her love for teaching began as a graduate student and continues today through her work as part-time faculty at the Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry at USC.

She teaches advanced surgery and treatment planning and has helped lead periodontic-prosthodontic seminars that encourage collaborative care and clinical insight.

Her dual role as educator and clinician keeps her connected to the latest evidence-based practices and her patients benefit from the same level of care she encourages in the classroom.

A Life of Service

Dr. Ruprecht’s passion for service was shaped early by her parents’ commitment to the underserved. Over the years, she has cared for patients in need through both international and local outreach.

She previously served as clinical director and a board member for SmileOnU, a global dental relief organization, leading mission clinics in Cambodia and India as well as local clinics across Los Angeles and Orange counties. These experiences remain some of the most meaningful of her career.

She continues to expand her outreach and is now partnering with the missions team at Saddleback Church to develop new dental missions in Mexico and Africa. This work further extends her commitment to compassionate care where it is needed most.
